The Chicago Cubs Really SUCK

Last night, the Chicago Cubs put on a masterclass on how not to play baseball. Effectively turning their game into a comedy of errors that left fans wondering if they were witnessing a major league team or a blooper reel in real-time. The Chicago Cubs Really SUCK!

I Bet OVER 7.5 Last Night

Giants’ Michael Conforto and David Villar decided to make the second inning their personal home run derby. With back-to-back bombs that had Cubs pitchers questioning their career choices. Luis Matos joined the fun with a tiebreaking solo shot in the fifth. Sealing the San Francisco Giants’ 4-3 victory over the hapless Cubs on Wednesday night.

Seiya Suzuki did manage to send one over the fence for Chicago, but let’s not get too excited—this was the Cubs’ fourth consecutive loss. And they’ve now managed to win a whopping 3 of their last 16 road games.

The Chicago Cubs Really SUCK

The Giants gave a warm welcome to Hayden Birdsong, fresh from Triple-A Sacramento for his big league debut. He allowed 3 runs and 6 hits, struck out 5. And walked three over 4 2/3 innings. A shaky start, sure, but compared to the Cubs’ performance, he looked like a seasoned pro.

For me, Birdsong did what I expected and allowed the amount of runs I needed for the over 7.5 to cash. He did his job

Luke Jackson (4-1) kept the Giants steady with 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Racking up his fourth straight win, while Camilo Doval shut things down in the ninth for his 14th save in 16 chances. These stats don’t reflect how badly the Cubs shot themselves in the foot last night. Chicago’s Hayden Wesneski, making his first start since May 8, gave up three runs on two hits and a walk. With 7 strikeouts in four innings.

The 7 strikeouts I was not expecting but giving up 3 runs is about what I expected. So now we are at 6 total runs going into the 6th inning.

Here’s When Chicago Really Blew The Game Total!

Chicago attempted a late-game rally, putting runners on first and second with two outs in the eighth. But in a move that perfectly encapsulates their season. Tyler Rogers picked off Ian Happ trying to steal third….The batter’s count was 0-1….

Why!? Trust your lineup and let them swing the bat with 2 runners on base! There were 2 outs and the manager is having his players steal a base in a very tight game!?!?

Cubs manager Craig Counsell tried to spin it as a calculated risk. “Base stealing is a risk. We took a risk. It didn’t work,” he said.

Hold on though! It get’s even better!

In the end, the Cubs stranded 7 runners and made three outs on the bases. Turning what could have been a high scoring game into a tragicomedy of missed opportunities and misplays.

If they keep this up, they might need to switch to a different sport—preferably one where running the bases isn’t a requirement.

I’ve had some tough losses this season but this one stings the most. It’s a pick that will haunt my mind for days to come. But I am out for revenge and that’s how I pick it back up and go on a long winning streak. Check out today’s MLB picks here.
