Yankees vs. Rangers Under 7.5

The Yankees and Rangers matchup has the profile of a lower-scoring game, with both starting pitchers capable of controlling the early innings. Cam Schlittler enters with strong run-prevention indicators and the kind of strikeout profile that can limit traffic, while Jacob deGrom still brings elite swing-and-miss ability and the command needed to keep a dangerous Yankees lineup from stacking rallies. When both starters project to miss bats and avoid free passes, every run becomes harder to manufacture.

The key here is that this total is built around pitching strength more than offensive weakness. Neither lineup has to be completely shut down for the Under to be the right side; the game simply needs to avoid the crooked inning. With deGrom on one side and Schlittler showing the form to match him for stretches, the most likely path is a tight, controlled game where baserunners are limited and scoring chances come at a premium.

The only real concern is the bullpen portion of the game, because a total of 7.5 does not leave much margin for late damage. Still, the starting-pitching matchup gives this Under enough support to make it playable. I like Yankees/Rangers Under 7.5 as the best angle, with a projected game script closer to a 4-2 or 3-2 final than a back-and-forth offensive game.

Final Score: Yankees 3-2
