Panthers Look to Leverage Balanced Scoring in Clash with Avalanche

Here at Elite Sports Beat this is a BIG NHL PICK OF THE MONTH! My first of the season, which means this is a 10* rated pick! You DO NOT want to sleep on this BIG winner!

So far this NHL season I am 6-2 (80%) $1,550 overall!

The Colorado Avalanche saw their impressive six-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday night with a narrow 2-1 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Despite the defeat, the Avalanche secured a valuable point and will aim to return to the win column as they conclude their four-game homestand against the Florida Panthers on Monday night in Denver.

The Florida Panthers are embarking on a brief two-game road trip through Colorado and Utah, playing four of their next five games away from home. Florida has struggled for consistency recently, dropping three of their last five outings. However, they are coming off a gritty 3-2 shootout victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night.

Panthers’ Offense Fueled by Reinhart and Depth

Florida’s offense is spearheaded by Sam Reinhart, who leads the team in points (46), goals (22), and assists (24). The Panthers also boast a well-rounded attack featuring Matthew Tkachuk (14 goals, 22 assists), Aleksander Barkov (11 goals, 24 assists), and Sam Bennett (13 goals, 14 assists).

In goal, Sergei Bobrovsky remains the cornerstone of Florida’s success. With a 2.79 goals-against average, the veteran netminder is supported ably by backup Spencer Knight, whose 2.80 GAA has made him a reliable option. Knight earned praise for his strong 29-save performance against Pittsburgh, reinforcing the Panthers’ depth in the crease.

Avalanche Relying on Blackwood Amid Goaltending Shuffle

The Avalanche have enjoyed stellar goaltending from Mackenzie Blackwood and Scott Wedgewood, who combined for an 8-2-1 record since joining the team. However, Wedgewood is sidelined with a right leg injury sustained last week, leaving Blackwood to shoulder the workload.

Blackwood has been a revelation, posting a 6-1-1 record with a 1.78 goals-against average in eight appearances for Colorado. His composure was evident in the shootout loss to Montreal, where he delivered clutch saves throughout regulation and overtime. Mackenzie Blackwood is 3-4-0 in 7 games with a goals against average of 3.31 and a save percentage of . 919 against the Panthers in his career.

On offense, Mikko Rantanen continues to shine, extending his point streak to 13 games with a goal on Saturday. Rantanen is third in the NHL in scoring with 57 points (23 goals, 34 assists). He is supported by Nathan MacKinnon, who leads the league with 65 points (14 goals, 51 assists), and Cale Makar, who tops all defensemen with 49 points (13 goals, 36 assists).
