I’m 2-1 so far this week in football picks, bringing my season total to 10-4 (71%) and +$11,500 overall. The profits keep stacking, and tonight’s showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets at MetLife Stadium sets up as another opportunity to keep the hot streak alive. With both teams heading in different directions, the stats tell an intriguing story heading into this Week 5 battle.

Dallas Cowboys Overview

The Cowboys have been one of the league’s most explosive teams on offense, averaging 404 total yards per game. They rank among the NFL’s top passing units with 281 yards per game, while the run game adds another 123 yards on average. Quarterback Dak Prescott leads the NFL in passing with over 1,100 yards and six touchdowns.

Even without CeeDee Lamb (ankle injury), Dallas has options. Jake Ferguson, Jalen Tolbert, and George Pickens are expected to step up, with Pickens already surpassing 300 receiving yards and finding the end zone four times. Javonte Williams continues to grind out tough yards, posting 312 rushing yards and four touchdowns through four games.

The Cowboys’ defense, however, remains a concern. They’ve surrendered 132 total points, or 33 points per game, exposing weaknesses in their secondary without safety Malik Hooker. If Dallas can’t get consistent stops, they’ll rely heavily on Prescott’s arm to carry them. The offense converts on 42% of third downs, showing efficiency, but they’ll need cleaner execution to fend off a Jets team playing desperate football.

New York Jets Overview

The Jets are still searching for their first win, sitting at 0-4, but their ground game has been elite. They rank third in the league in rushing yards per game (144.5), led by Breece Hall, who’s logged 238 yards on the ground. With Braelon Allen sidelined due to an MCL injury, Hall will carry the load with help from Khalil Herbert and Isaiah Davis.

Quarterback Justin Fields has thrown for 471 yards, and while the passing game hasn’t clicked yet, his mobility gives the Jets another dimension. They average just 160 passing yards per game, one of the lowest marks in the league, but Fields’ ability to extend plays could stress Dallas’ defense.

Garrett Wilson remains the team’s go-to target, hauling in 311 yards and multiple touchdowns already. Expect him to test the Cowboys’ secondary early and often. Defensively, the Jets have allowed 120 points total (30 per game) but have shown resilience on key downs, holding opponents to a third-down conversion rate in the mid-30s.

For New York, success depends on controlling possession and keeping Dallas’ offense off the field. If they can limit turnovers and pound the rock, they’ll have a fighting chance to stay close into the fourth quarter.
