What Happened
We took Under 6.5 in Oilers–Blue Jackets as a 5★ ($500) bet. The number and price were right, but the game state flipped early—quick scoring + extra whistles = special teams, which kills Unders. Add a couple softies and the pace turns into track meet math. Columbus has 19 shots on net, Edmonton had 24…and there was 9 total goals. That hardly happens in hockey however it happens. We own it.
Why It Was a 5★, Not a 20★
I grade picks by edge confidence and fragility:
- Edge: We had the key number (6.5) at plus money—solid, but not bulletproof.
- Fragility: Elite PP talent meant one bad whistle stretch could nuke our angle. That caps the ceiling at 5★.
- Brand rules: No heavy juice; we stayed between +money and -120, as promised.
Tonight: 20★ (Load-Up Spot)
Different matchup, different profile. The edge is stronger and less fragile, and the price stays within our brand (no heavy juice). This is the one to press—20★ means my highest confidence for the week.

Bottom line: We lost a 5★ in a high-variance spot. Tonight’s 20★ is a load-up opportunity—smart number, cleaner matchup, and still no heavy juice. Let’s cash.

I liked the angle last night at plus money and with both teams under 20 shots the read on the game wasn’t bad…just didn’t work out.
low shots on net and they over hit. Crazy – good bet but bad beat. You always bounce back though!
